EDUCATION & LIVELIHOOD TRAINING

Through years of working on the ground, we have realized that the problem of the school dropouts from underprivileged families is not only economic poverty but also social poverty. by social poverty, we mean the absence of social support systems and the socio-cultural atmosphere that positively impacts school dropouts to improving themselves.

we at Parivartan bahuuddeshiya sevabhavi sanstha have developed a model and identified 4 areas of work which forms the 4 pillars of the parivartan bahuuddeshiya sevabhavi sanstha model.

THE 4 PILLARS

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

community engagement aims to develop leadership among underprivileged youth and

solve community problems. issues like leadership development, community work, problem

solving, sports, culture, recreation & life skills are taken up

INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIP

the next pillar is partnership with major stake holders, industry, government, ngo’s and
communities.

this also includes tying up with trade agencies. at parivartan bahuuddeshiya sevabhavi sanstha, we also arrange industry visits for new students as these industry partners can be potential employers.

LIVELIHOOD TRAINING

Create wage & self-employment and empower students to join the economic mainstream.

‘Livelihood training’ solves the problem of school dropouts without marketable skills by enabling them to gain expertise in trades like electrical wireman, mobile repairing, DTP, Tally, nursing assistance, A/C refrigeration, motor mechanic, motor driving, etc.

LIVELIHOOD SUPPORT

of the total students trained each year, approximately 60% are gainfully employed
either through a
wage or self-employment.

pbss has a dedicated placement cell at the jalna office and has tie ups with many small and large companies along with livelihood coordinators spread across the geography.

PARIVARTAN BAHUUDDESHIYA SEVABHAVI SANSTHA,

We run the only inclusive program in Marathwada. The key features of the program are:

  1. Admission to anyone who can read and write with no formal education
  2. Focus on hands on vocational training (70% practical & 30% theory)
  3. Soch ka Parivartan (SKP) – a proprietary program for attitudinal change and life skills such as decision making, time management
  4. Money management, values & perception, health & hygiene, work readiness etc.
  5. Enabling courses in English speaking and basic computer
  6. Community engagement, counseling and mentoring
  7. Job placements and assistance for self-employment

Parivartan Bahuuddeshiya Sevabhavi Sanstha addresses the three most important paradoxes confronting the livelihoods space in Marathwada today:

  1. 70% of the population lives in the villages but receive only 30% of the attention & resources
  2. 80% of all youth do not complete school but receive only 20% of the attention
  3. 90% jobs are in the unorganized sectors but they receive only 10% of the attention and resources

ABOUT PARIVARTAN

Parivartan Bahuuddeshiya Sevabhavi Sanstha It is estimated that by 2025 around 100 million people in our country will reach working age, which will be the largest in the world. At the same time, looking at the current scenario where more than 80% of youth in the country have not completed school, it can be inferred that these youth, unless given vocational skills, will neither have enough competency to work as skilled labour to meet the growing needs of various industries, nor will they work for long as casual labour before falling prey to an addiction leading to battered minds & bodies.

Parivartan Bahuuddeshiya Sevabhavi Sanstha we believe in giving a ‘second chance’ to the out of school deprived youth and help them earn a decent living. By providing vocational training and life skills, we intend to turn the less privileged youth into an asset for the society and the nation.

Parivartan Bahuuddeshiya Sevabhavi Sanstha has a flexible and innovative model that has been appreciated by the Planning Commission and has proved effective in the urban, rural and tribal belts. Our model ensures that the local community needs are met thus benefiting the youth as well as the entire community or village.

Parivartan Bahuuddeshiya Sevabhavi Sanstha is an inspired movement with a desire to bring about a change for the betterment of the society and the nation
